The conversion of the basement was required to provide extra habitable space. The cellar floor was tanked and overlaid with a brick floor in keeping with the original which was in very poor condition. The walls were tanked and lined with insulation board and plaster skimmed. The ceiling was given new joists to supplement the existing one and sound insulation was added.
